today’s prenatal appointment went swimmingly. my uterus is measuring dead on at 16cm, and joy of joys, we heard sparky’s gorgeous heartbeat the moment the doppler touched my belly. her heartrate was in the 130s, slow and steady, and the two kristens (midwife and apprentice) are betting on sparky being a boy. michele added that sparky may have simply been sleeping when poked.
hopefully, speculation will soon come to an end, as the bits appointment is scheduled for january 14. we’re bringing the coach, who is beyond ecstatic.
meanwhile, we had a very long appointment with the bank today, as we applied for our home loan. i must say that our loan officer is amazing and a born educator. we’ve already invited her to the new house for dinner after closing. we feel very blessed by the terms of this loan. now we bow down to the underwriting gods, and pray for their benevolence. gulp.
so, here is the house:
chicory asked for a little clarification about our decision to buy a house, after i posted this entry last summer about ideas for homesteads. we’ve decided to stay put in austin for sparky’s first years for a few reasons: so h can get her foot in the teaching door, we will be close to family, but not too close, and we found an affordable home that we really love. h still owns the house in tiny, tx, which is being rented to a sweet old lady. so. for now, everyone wins…
i received an email from niece A today, and i had to share it with you. i love this girl. (this was a second email sent about baby name ideas she has…)
Sorry to bother you about baby names, I’m just excited about having a new cousin. I really hope its a baby girl because I’d have someone special to hang out with and talk to. You’ll defiantly hear from me often. If you need help with anything, let us know. Were here for you. So how are you doing? Are you excited for the baby to arrive? I’ll bet you are. Which gender are you hoping for? If its a girl, it might be easier to help her with social problems when she’s older. I love the names for a girl Claire, Hali or Hallie, Kathryn, and I especially love the name Emma. Its a really cute name. If its a boy, I don’t know, to be honest. I don’t know what it would be like for you. All I know is that boys can be really annoying (like [brother] B) but life is that way. How do you feel? Do you get sick often? How many months have you been pregnant? How do you look? I really hope you are pregnant with a baby girl. When’s your birthday because I have like a bunch of birthdays people are cramming in my head. We are sending you a little baby Christmas gift. I can’t wait till June! We have to see the baby in the hospital when he/she is let out its first (or second) cry! I wanna hold her/him! I hope we’ll be able to visit you when the baby is born. Anyway, after you read this here are some sites to check out. What trimester are you in? Is H getting excited for June 15? I hope that labor isn’t as bad as my stupid kidney stones. If we can’t be at the hospital, give us a call so I can talk to the baby on the phone. I’ll give you a call soon. I’ll call up and check on you from time to time. I’m just so excited! But the only thing is, I won’t see the baby enough. I wish you lived a little closer so I could help guide he/she through life. I’ve dealt with stress, and I’ll be 13 years older than the baby, so I could baby sit because I have started babysitting B! Well sorry for such of a long email. Just feels good to let out my thoughts. I’m already excited, and I don’t get to see he/she till June! Well, here’s a baby name site.
my darling girl.
(sparky kicked as i wrote that.)
