News item to pass on to all families:
Us2 LLC has announced that it has developed the first children’s animated cartoon series starring a character with two parents of the same gender. Buddy G – My Two Moms and Me, featuring sate of the art 3-D animation, will premiere with the release of a DVD just in time for a holiday delivery this year.
According to the Executive Producer of the show, Margaux Towne-Colley, “Buddy G is a historic development in children’s entertainment. While today’s children have ready access to literature depicting families headed by parents of the same gender, this is the first time that children with two moms or two dads will able to see the star of a show with a family just like their families.” She added, “We are very proud of this cartoon and what it means to our families.” Ms. Towne-Colley also states that while Buddy G was designed for children of GLBT, gay, and lesbian parents – the show is great entertainment for all families.
The star of the cartoon is “Buddy G,” a five year old boy who loves science and solves daily problems with the help of his sidekick “Socrates,” an armband computer with Internet capabilities. In addition to Buddy G’s 2 moms, the cartoon includes a 7 year old next door neighbor “Owen,” who is fascinated with Elvis. In this premiere episode, The Lost Rings, the boys learn the value of being truthful while picking up some facts from Socrates about the science of metal detectors.
The premiere DVD can be ordered from the cartoon’s website: http://buddyg.tv
The website also includes coloring pages for download and Buddy G Gear.

What is it with left handed lesbians? Another one here.
Congrats on the baby-makin’!
hi,
i started reading your blog a little while ago. i am a day-dreamer of the elusive future – deciding on a donor, and having a baby with my lovely loved one. reading the tales from those who are making the journey right now is wonderfully inspiring. so, thank you for writing and for sharing. i will think safe, healthy thoughts for sparky’s grand arrival!
Hey, I have just come across your blog tonight.. and have really enjoyed trawling back through some posts.. your journey is exciting and inspiring. I am also a left-handed lesbian, ttcing, with plans of homebirthing once we get this family started (we have a kd and have to wait six months before we can use the sperm)… I love your dress for the shower, and am inspired that it’s possible to look that funky at 8 months.. Anyway, I have joined the ranks of ttc blogging, and would love to add you to my blogroll and keep an eye on the arrival of sparky.
hi tessa! welcome. i hope you come back often. are you blogging your journey? i’d love to add you to the roll.
hatchling, thanks for spending so much time here! i’d love to add you back–what’s your blog address?
It’s http://www.hatchling.wordpress.com. Yes, I have been off work sick for a few days this week, and so have had some serious time to spend catching up on lesbian ttcing blogs as well as working on my own
i have been coming back often it turns out!!
i am currently just a blog-reader, but thanks for the invitation to let you know if that might change.
i’m wishing you comfort, as much as possible, as you wait for little sparky!
hooray for leftie lezzies!!! My partner belongs to that club too… Congrats on little Jude’s birth! She is gorgeous! I am new to this blogging thing but will be around, esp as my lovley leftie and I are starting our TTC journey for the second time…

…I’ve been lurking here for a while. And, yes, still here. My ladylove and I have just started our own journey (pre-ttc) and I have been following your wonderful adventures. I wish yu a swift recovery and happy that you are in the hands of someone who loves (and dotes on you) so well. Ditto for Jude.
thanks keely! and welcome!
loving the pictures of J! Who’s the picture-taker? Where in Texass to you reside?
Hi. I have been reading your blog on and off over the past several months as my family (two moms, 4 kids, 4 cats) prepared for our move to Texas from Massachusetts. I just wanted to say thanks for sharing pieces of your life with us. I was the mom who got to stay home with our baby when my partner/wife went back to work. She too went through the fussiness you describe in one of your recent posts when her mama came home from work. The fun part was that after a few weeks the baby (at 4 1/2 months or so)started anticipating the key in the lock, the opening of the door, the walk upstairs and seeing her mama’s face in the doorway. The sheer delight (and yes “boob-anticipation”) on her face was such a joy to experience. I don’t think I can tell you it gets any easier to leave her but I think the welcome homes will get better and better. Our 13 month old now waits at the door and offers a hug and help with her bags!
thank you for allowing others to read about your journey… jude is beautiful!!! coincidentally, i read about your meme today… fun to see that you are from erie
the foliage this year is amazing!!!
Okay, so I’m randomly reading old entries instead of doing work, and I have to say I’m amused. Based on your link to last year’s post on the 7th, I got knocked up one day after you. My birthday is one day after yours, and I was born one year after you.
Yeah, okay, I should just get back to work. But I’m amused, nonetheless.
@michelle you are now on the blogroll!
@n whoa. that is all kinds of chronological craziness. glad i could pave the way, one day and one year ahead
I just wanted to say hi and thank you. My wife and I live in Austin, and I think we work at the same place as you.
We have been talking about starting this journey for several years now. More like, she has been begging and I have been pushing back with fears and concerns. Reading your blog is what finally helped me overcome the last of these fears and concerns. We will be starting this process very soon and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate reading your blog. Your entries are informative, educational, touching, and sometimes downright hilarious. Thank you for sharing this part of your life so freely. You have even inspired us to create our own blog when the time comes, to chronicle our journey.
